10 Glamly Features You Should Be Using Right Now

Getting the most out of Glamly — top 10 features guide

Glamly does a lot more than take bookings. There are features in here that can save you money, fill your diary on days it looks quiet, protect you from no-shows, and let you accept card payments without touching a machine. Some you might already use. Some you might not know exist.

Here are the ten we'd recommend every Glamly business has switched on.

01

Promote a Slot

Had a cancellation? Instead of posting a vague "any takers?" to your Instagram story, Glamly lets you generate a direct booking link for that exact slot — the right date, the right time, the right service. Send it in a WhatsApp message, drop it in your story, share it in a Facebook group. Whoever taps it goes straight to a booking form for that specific gap. No back-and-forth, no "what times do you have?"

It's the single fastest way to fill a hole in your diary. The unique link copies to your clipboard and takes the client directly to that slot — no browsing, no choosing a time, just straight to booking.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are a genuinely underused revenue stream. Glamly supports them in two ways — online purchase and manual issue — and most businesses only know about one of them, if either.

Online purchase: When enabled, a Gift Vouchers option appears on your public booking page. Clients can buy a voucher at any value you set — £25, £50, £100, whatever denominations you choose — and pay by card on the spot. The voucher code is sent to them automatically. They can give it as a present or use it themselves. You get the money upfront, before a single appointment is booked.

Manual issue: You can also create and send a voucher manually for any amount, to any client. Useful for loyalty rewards, birthday gifts, or as a goodwill gesture. You set the value and the expiry date, and Glamly handles the code and delivery.

All vouchers are tracked in the Manage Vouchers section — you can see balances, which have been redeemed, and which are still live.

Business Insights

Most Glamly users check their calendar every day. Far fewer check their Insights — and that's a shame, because it's one of the most useful things in the dashboard.

Insights shows you exactly where your revenue is coming from and where it's leaking. You can see total revenue, average appointment value, your busiest and quietest days, which services drive the most income, and how much you've lost to no-shows and cancellations in any given period. There's also a smart nudges section that spots patterns in your data and surfaces actionable suggestions — things like which day of the week is consistently underbooked, or if one service accounts for too high a share of your revenue.

If you've never opened it, spend five minutes with it. You'll likely see something you didn't know.

Glamly Growth — Automations, Campaigns & Promotions

Glamly Growth is the marketing section of your dashboard — a £10/month add-on that covers automations, campaigns, promotions, and loyalty. It's built for businesses that want to fill their diary without doing it manually.

Automations — set once and they run in the background indefinitely. There are eleven:

  • Rebooking Reminders — nudge clients to come back after their appointment. You set the interval.
  • Review Requests — sends a Google review link 12 hours after a completed appointment. Directed straight to your Google page.
  • First Visit Follow-up — a thank-you message sent after a new client's very first appointment while the experience is still fresh.
  • Birthday Messages — personalised birthday message with an optional discount code. Never miss a client's birthday again.
  • Booking Anniversary — marks the one-year anniversary of a client's first visit with a personal message. The kind of touch people remember.
  • Lapsed Client Recovery — reaches out to clients who haven't been back in a set number of days. Optional follow-ups and a custom incentive to sweeten it.
  • Loyalty Milestone Reward — automatically messages a client when they hit their Nth visit, with an optional thank-you discount.
  • Service Cycle Nudge — reminds clients when their specific treatment is due again, based on how long it typically lasts (e.g. lash infills every 3 weeks).
  • Referral Nudge — sends regular clients a personal booking link to share with friends. New clients who book through it are linked to the referrer automatically.
  • Quiet Period Filler — detects when your upcoming schedule looks quiet and sends a targeted message to recent or lapsed clients to prompt a booking.
  • Abandoned Checkout Follow-up — when a client starts a booking but doesn't finish, a follow-up goes out a few days later. Automatically skipped if they rebook first.

Campaigns — send a message to your full client list (or a segment of it) when you have something to say: a new service, a seasonal offer, a last-minute push to fill a quiet week. You write it, choose who gets it, and send.

Promotions — create promo codes and time-limited discounts that clients apply at checkout. Useful for new client offers, referral codes, or a quiet-week special you don't want to advertise publicly.

Loyalty — points and stamp cards that reward clients for coming back. Set it up once and Glamly tracks everything automatically. Covered in more detail in section 2.

You don't need all of these running at once. Even just Rebooking Reminders and Review Requests will make a noticeable difference to repeat bookings and your Google presence — and both take under a minute to switch on.

05

Pay Now or Pay Later

By default, clients pay when they see you — but Pay Now or Pay Later gives you the option to collect full payment at the point of booking if you want the security of money in before the appointment happens. You decide which option to offer: payment upfront by card, payment in person on the day, or let the client choose at checkout.

If you take online payments, you can also choose to pass card processing fees through to clients who pay by card — keeping your full payout in your pocket. Both settings are entirely your call and can be changed at any time.

Settings → Payments → Turn on Pay Now or Pay Later
06

Tap to Pay on iPhone

If a client wants to pay in person, you don't need a card reader. Glamly's Tap to Pay feature turns your iPhone into a contactless payment terminal. Hold it up, the client taps their card or phone, and the payment goes through.

It works with all contactless cards and Apple Pay. Payments go directly to your connected Stripe account in the normal way. If you're mobile, or if you just prefer not to carry a separate card reader, this is the easiest way to get paid on the spot.

Tap to Pay requires the Glamly iPhone app, a compatible iPhone (XS or later), and iOS 16 or above. Stripe must also be connected in your payments settings before you can turn it on.

07

Loyalty

Loyalty is part of Glamly Growth — once you're on the Growth plan, it's ready to go. You choose the mode that fits how you work: points(clients earn a set number of points per pound spent, then redeem them for a discount) or stamp cards (clients collect one stamp per completed appointment and get a reward when the card is full — the digital version of a punch card).

The whole thing runs automatically in the background. Points or stamps are awarded when you mark an appointment as complete, and the client sees their balance on their booking confirmation. No manual tracking, no spreadsheets.

It's one of the simplest retention tools available. Clients who know they're working towards something tend to come back — and they tend to book more consistently to get there.

Out-of-Hours Pricing

You can open your booking page for appointments outside your normal hours — early mornings, evenings, weekends — and charge a premium for those slots. Clients who want the convenience of an 8am Saturday appointment can have it; they just pay a little more.

You define the out-of-hours windows and the price uplift. The additional charge appears automatically in the booking flow, so there's no awkward conversation about pricing. If you regularly get asked for early or late slots, this is a clean way to say yes while protecting the value of those hours.

09

Waitlist

When a slot is fully booked, clients can join the waitlist instead of leaving empty-handed. They pick the service they want and — optionally — a preferred date or time of day. Glamly holds their details and watches for openings.

When a cancellation comes in, Glamly automatically notifies everyone on the waitlist who matches that slot — the right service, the right date, the right time band. It sends them a link to claim the appointment. First to accept gets it; the others stay in the queue for the next opening.

You get a push notification and an activity feed entry whenever an offer goes out or someone accepts — so you always know what's been filled and by whom. Gaps that would have sat empty get filled automatically, without you having to lift a finger.

10

Extras — Upsell at the Point of Booking

Extras are optional add-ons that clients can select during the booking process, before they confirm their appointment. Think nail art on top of a gel set, a brow tint with a lash lift, a conditioning treatment alongside a cut and colour — anything where a client might want to add something to their core service.

You create your extras in the Extras section of settings, set a price for each, and then decide which services they can be attached to. When a client books one of those services, they see a second step — "Would you like to add any extras?" — before checkout. They select what they want, the price updates, and you see everything on the booking in your dashboard.

It's a clean, no-pressure way to increase your average appointment value without any awkward upselling conversation. Clients who want it can add it; those who don't, skip the step. You can also allow any service to be added as an extra to any booking, or lock it down to specific combinations — your call.
