★ Major update

01 — Tap to Pay on Android — your phone is now your card reader

Tap to Pay launched on iPhone in September. Now it's on Android too. Clients tap their contactless card, or Google Pay, Apple Pay or Samsung Pay, on the back of your phone and the payment is done. No card reader, no dongle, nothing extra to buy or charge.

Take payments in person wherever you work: in the salon, on a mobile visit, or at a pop-up. It needs an Android phone with NFC running Android 13 or later, using the Glamly app.

How to enable it
  • Open the Glamly app on your Android phone
  • Settings → Payments → Tap to Pay → Enable Tap to Pay
  • You'll need your Stripe account connected under Settings → Payments

02 — Week view — zoom, swipe and tap a slot to book

If you run your diary from the week view, this one's for you. Pinch to zoom in and out (or use the − and + buttons) to see as much or as little detail as you like, and Glamly remembers your zoom on each device. Swipe left and right to move between weeks, or use the arrows that now sit right above the diary.

You can also tap any empty slot in the week view to book a client or block out time, just like in the day view. The grid lines get finer as you zoom in, so it's easy to see exactly where a time sits.

How to use it
  • Schedule → Week
  • Pinch or use − / + to zoom · swipe or use the arrows to change week · tap an empty slot to book or block

03 — Press and hold an appointment for quick actions

Press and hold any appointment in your diary, in day or week view, and a quick-actions menu pops up so you can reschedule, resend the confirmation or cancel without opening the full booking. A normal tap still opens the booking as before.

04 — One History card for every booking

Everything that's happened to a booking now lives in one place. The new History card shows changes, payments and messages in a single timeline, newest first, with filters for All, Payments, Messages and Changes. Reschedules, refunds, no-show charges and every message sent are all there, so you never have to piece the story together.

Where to find it
  • Open any booking — the History card is in the booking panel

05 — Change the length of just one appointment

Some clients are quicker than the service time, and some need a little longer. You can now shorten or lengthen a single appointment without touching your service settings. Use −15, −5, +5 or +15, or type a custom length. Your calendar and online availability update to match, and the booking shows what it would normally take with a one-tap Reset. If the longer length would run into your next booking, Glamly warns you.

How to use it
  • Open the booking → Appointment length

06 — Quick re-book

You asked for this one. Straight after you confirm a booking, you can tap Book another for [client] to book their next appointment with the same treatments, then just pick the date and time. Re-book is now on confirmed appointments too, and it keeps every treatment in the booking, not just the first.

07 — “Awaiting card / deposit / payment” until a booking is secured

When you book a client in but still need their card, deposit or payment, the booking now says so clearly instead of just “Confirmed”. You'll see it in your bookings list, and your client sees it on their booking page and in My Bookings. Their confirmation and reminder messages lead with “Action needed”, so they don't miss the ask.

How to enable it
  • Nothing to set up — it's automatic for any booking still waiting on a card, deposit or payment

08 — Split shifts and an extra break

Work a morning and an evening with time off in between? Turn on a split shift for any day and enter your 1st shift and 2nd shift times. Clients can only book inside them, and Glamly warns you if the two overlap. You can also add an extra break to any day, and remove a split for every week straight from the diary.

How to enable it
  • Settings → Opening Hours → Split shift on the day you want

09 — Smarter gap protection

The Balanced and Protect Schedule settings now protect the start and end of your day as well as the gaps between bookings. Clients are only offered the times that leave the least wasted time, so you don't end up with awkward 20-minute gaps nobody can book.

How to enable it
  • Settings → Rules → choose Balanced or Protect Schedule

Also in your diary: Time Management lists can now be sorted soonest or latest first and filtered to All, Next 30 days or This month. That makes long lists of days off and holidays much easier to manage.

10 — Client special pricing, deposits and buffers

Every client is different, and now your settings can be too. On a client's profile you can set:

Per-client settings

Set it once, applied every time they book

  • Special pricing — always free (perfect for family or models) or a £ or % discount with a name your client sees. It's applied automatically when they book online, once they've confirmed their email.
  • Custom deposit — never charge this client a deposit, or set their own amount (% or £). This works even if deposits are off for everyone else.
  • Buffer after appointment — extra time blocked after this client's appointments. Your client never sees it, and it applies to online and manual bookings.
How to enable it
  • Clients → open a client → Settings tab

11 — Gift vouchers: schedule for a special day, sell with Tap to Pay

Clients buying a gift voucher can now choose Send now or On a date, so it lands in the recipient's inbox on the morning of their birthday. The buyer gets a link to change the message, recipient or date until it's sent. You can also send it straight away or change the date yourself.

Selling a voucher in person? You can now take the payment with Tap to Pay on iPhone or Android. And your vouchers have a proper home: a list with totals, balances left to spend and vouchers expiring soon, plus actions to resend, change the expiry, adjust a balance, refund or cancel.

A voucher that arrives on the birthday morning, not three days early. That's the gift done properly.
Where to find it
  • Scheduling is on your gift voucher page automatically — no setup needed
  • Your vouchers list: the Gift vouchers card in your Bookings hub
  • Sell a voucher in person: Settings → Gift Vouchers, or the calendar quick actions

12 — “From” prices on services

For treatments where the final price depends on the client, like colour, extensions or removals, you can now show the price as “from £X”. Clients see “from” everywhere the price appears, with a note that the final price is confirmed at their appointment. Because the final price isn't known yet, these services are never taken in full upfront, but deposits still work.

How to enable it
  • Settings → Services Menu → open a service → Price varies — show as “from”

13 — Flash sales with start and end times

Promotions can now start and end at a set time as well as a date. That's perfect for a 6pm–8pm flash sale or a 24-hour offer. Your booking page shows a live countdown (“Ends in 1h 23m”) and switches back to normal prices on its own when the sale ends. Leave the times blank and it runs all day, as before.

How to enable it
  • Settings → Promotions → New promotion → add a start time and end time

14 — Glamly Reviews on your booking page

Clients can now rate and review you on Glamly after their appointment. Those reviews show on your booking page alongside your Google reviews, with your overall rating and ratings for each service. Reviews can only be left by your clients and can't be edited, so new clients can trust what they read.

How to enable it
  • Settings → Reviews → Glamly Reviews

15 — New client waitlist

Fully booked and not taking new clients? When you pause new clients, people who find your booking page can now join a waitlist instead of leaving empty-handed. You'll see everyone in one list, and when you're ready you can invite them in one tap. They get an email and can book straight away.

How to enable it
  • Settings → Rules → Pause new clients
  • See your list under Clients → New Client Waitlist

16 — Consultation forms: countersign, correct and track

Three upgrades

Forms that hold up when it matters

  • Technician signature — some manufacturers need you to countersign a patch test or consent form. Add a “Technician signature (you sign)” field, and once your client has filled the form in, you sign it from the booking. It's included in the PDF.
  • Correct an answer — if a client ticked the wrong box, pick the question, set the right answer and have them sign on your screen. The original answer is kept on record and shown in the PDF.
  • Form history on the client profile — every form a client has completed, when they did it and when it's next due, colour-coded so you can see who's overdue.
Where to find it
  • Technician signature: Settings → Consultation Forms → add the field to a form
  • Correct an answer: open the booking → the completed form → Correct an answer
  • Form history: open a client → Notes tab
