Upselling in person can feel pushy. Mentioning a conditioning treatment while you're mid-colour, or suggesting an eyebrow tint when a client's already on the bed — there's an art to it, and not every conversation lands right. Glamly's extras feature takes that pressure off completely.
You create the extras once. You link them to the services they go with. When a client books, they're offered the relevant options themselves — they add what they want, you see it on the booking. No awkward moment required.
What counts as an extra?
Extras are optional add-ons that clients can choose during booking. They work for anything you'd normally mention on the day — treatments, products, upgrades. A few examples:
Brow tint add-on
Offer a brow tint alongside any lash extension booking. Extra £10, 15 extra minutes.
Nail art upgrade
Offer nail art on top of a gel set — minimal, moderate, or complex as separate extras.
Conditioning treatment
Add a conditioning treatment to any colour service. Duration added to the slot automatically.
Soak-off
Offer a soak-off removal with any new nail set. Clients add it at booking — no back and forth.
How to set up an extra
Go to Settings → Extras and tap Add extra. You'll give it:
- A name — keep it clear and client-friendly, this is what they see during booking
- A price — added to the appointment total when selected
- A duration (optional) — if the extra adds time to the appointment, enter it here and Glamly will factor it into the slot length automatically
Save the extra, then use Link to services to choose which of your services this extra should appear for. That's it — no other configuration needed.
How extras appear during booking
After a client picks their service and time, Glamly checks whether there are any extras linked to their chosen service. If there are, they're shown an extras step where they can tap to add what they want.
If the service has no extras linked, the step is skipped entirely. Clients go straight from picking a time to entering their contact details. There's no empty screen, no confused moment — it just isn't there.
Duration is automatic
If an extra adds time — say, 15 minutes for a brow tint on top of a lash appointment — enter that duration on the extra. Glamly adds it to the total appointment length and books the right amount of time in your calendar. You never have to manually adjust anything.
Tips for using extras well
A few things that make the difference between extras that get used and extras that get ignored:
- Be specific with names. “Brow tint” is clearer than “Add-on treatment.” Clients make the decision in a couple of seconds — make it easy.
- Only link relevant extras. A conditioning treatment makes sense on a colour service, not a trim. Irrelevant extras create noise and lower conversion on the ones that matter.
- Use duration honestly. If the extra genuinely adds time, add it. If you can absorb it into your normal session, leave it at zero — but don't leave time off and end up short.
- Separate price points. If you offer the same extra at different prices depending on service complexity (e.g. nail art on a natural set vs. extensions), create separate extras and link each to the right service.
Ready to set up your extras?
Go to Settings → Extras in your Glamly dashboard and create your first one. It takes about two minutes, and every booking that service receives will offer it automatically from that point on.
